| Headings: United Way Pacesetter |
Community Health Professionals was named the pacesetter company for the 2010 United Way of Van Wert County Campaign. CHP was founded in part by a grant from United Way in 1975.
"The community has given so much to support CHP that we are glad to serve as pacesetter," said Shelly Barrett, CHP vice president of operations. "We have put together a committee and have been making plans for some extra fundraising events to reach our goal.
Among the fundraising plans is a sausage sandwich and dessert buffet, scheduled for Aug. 26 and a Scratch and Help game where a person scratches off two circles on a card and donates the amount, anywhere from 50 cents to three dollars. In exchange for the donation, the player receives coupons to local restaurants and businesses.
