Headings:  Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are a vital part of our operations at Community Health Professionals. Volunteers enable CHP to offer services it otherwise could not offer. We are in need of more people who are willing to invest their time and skills.

Volunteers provide support to hospice patients and families by assisting with errands, reading with patients, visiting or simply listening. Volunteers also help with office tasks like preparing mailings, making phone calls, assisting with fundraising events, and more.

Most volunteers find that they receive back much more than they give. Training sessions are provided for those interested in becoming hospice volunteers. Attendace at four, three-hour training sessions are required to receive certification. Otherwise, volunteers just need to have a caring spirit and willingness to help others.

Becoming a volunteer is as simple as calling your nearest CHP location to find out how you can help:

Headings:  Grief Support

HOSPICE Bereavement support Groups

CHP Hospice offers bereavement several groups to support individuals dealing with grief issues.

Meetings usually lasts about an hour, are free and open to the public. You do not have to have had a loved one on hospice with CHP. The groups are open to anyone who wants to talk about their loved one they have lost.

Bereavement groups are not formal. They usually have a topic to talk about and typically, the meetings are about sharing. Not everybody has a lot of support. Some people have no family or their family lives away from here. CHP Bereavement Support Groups are here to help.

When you walk through the door, you can take off your mask and share your feelings. We want you to feel accepted and safe.
